From left to right: Macy Person, Ellis Smith, and Kinzie Maxwell

With the opening game for Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball happening tomorrow, three players will be on the sports show on Raccoon Valley Radio tonight.

ADM sophomore Kinzie Maxwell, along with juniors Ellis Smith and Macy Person will be apart of the Raccoon Valley Bank Dallas County PM Sports, as they look ahead to the 2025 season. Smith, who normally is positioned at shortstop, tells Raccoon Valley Radio she was inspired by her two older sisters, Aniston and Cameran, who both played softball for the Tigers. She says the team has been doing different things to get ready for the regular season.

“During our inside practices, we’ve been doing a lot of (things) like hitting off of pitchers and being able to see them and getting bunts off of them because that’s just such a big part of our game and stuff, and it’s been really helpful.”

Maxwell tries to stay positive in a game setting when things get hard, and will hold her teammates accountable, but in an encouraging way. ADM lost 7-6 in the Class 3A Championship Game against Carlisle last year, and Maxwell is hoping to return back there with her friends.

“Getting to where we were last year (with) that second place spot. Hopefully we can take it away this year.”

The Tigers will be opening up the season tomorrow in Adel welcoming in Ankeny at 7:15pm, with the game being broadcast on K107.9 KKRF. Tonight, Maxwell, Smith, and Person will be featured on the Raccoon Valley Bank Dallas County PM Sports Magazine on 94.3/99.7 FM and AM 1310 KDLS, alongside conversations with Perry and Dallas Center-Grimes High Schools at 6pm.
