The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors will meet in regular session today.

The Board will consider for approval a title and summary for publication for an ordinance providing for animal protection and control, as well as set a date for a first reading of the ordinance. They will also consider for approval the Secondary Roads Department fiscal year 2025 Iowa Department of Transportation budget amendment after they hear from Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern.

The Board will then hold a public hearing at 9:30am for a fiscal year 2025 budget amendment, regarding adoption of a fiscal year 2024-25 Guthrie County budget amendment, as well as an appropriations resolution for that amendment. The next thing they will hear about to discuss and possibly take action on is a right-of-way fence dispute at the Shelley property in Penn Township.

The Board will also hold a 2025 Strategy and Project Planning session, and will work on developing forms for agenda requests, county board/commission appointment applications and external county funding requests, as well as updating the existing comprehensive plan. The meeting begins at 9am in the Board of Supervisors room in the Guthrie County Courthouse. For those unable to attend in person, there is a digital option available via Microsoft Teams. Raccoon Valley Radio will have results from the meeting tomorrow.
