Jonathan Banuelos and Jacobo Cerna-Gomez each score three times to propel Perry over South Tama, 7-1, Tuesday night at Dewey Field.
Bluejay soccer is just one win from a return appearance to the State Tournament. Perry knocked off South Tama in the Substate Semifinal on Tuesday, 7-1. This is the fourth straight year the Bluejays have made the final and they have won the previous two. The victory ends a three match losing streak and gives Perry their tenth win.
The Bluejays built a 5-0 lead at half and added another two in the final 40 minutes in the 7-1 win.
The Banuelos hat trick gives him 25 goals on the season. Cerna-Gomez also found the back of the net three times. Alex Zamora accounted for the lone other goal.
The Bluejays improve to 10-4-3 and will host Knoxville on Thursday at 7p at Dewey Field for the right to go to State. KDLS will have the radio broadcast tomorrow night of the Substatefinal.
