The Perry Community School District is welcoming the public out to a special dedication for a student that lost their life during the tragic shooting on January 4th, 2024.
According to a press release from Perry Middle School Principal Ned Menke, a ceremony will be held to celebrate the life of Ahmir Jolliff at Wiese Park on Monday. He says that a tree and bench will be dedicated to Jolliff in memoriam after the positive impact he left on family and friends.
Menke describes that the dedication serves as a tribute to his spirit, kindness and contributions to the school district. Jolliff, along with former High School Principal Dan Marburger, lost their lives after a student opened fire on January 4th, 2024. Menke invites anyone to attend, which will include brief remarks honoring Jolliff’s memory. The ceremony on Monday will be taking place at 4:30pm at Wiese Park.
