
In the second game of Wednesday’s double header against the Pella Christian Eagles, Jenna Gray of Dallas Center-Grimes would hit a two run home run to give the Mustangs the lead and the motivation to defeat the Eagles 11-3.
Pella Christian would score in the top of the second and third holding onto a 2-1 going into the bottom of the third. Jenna Gray, with Addison Lyddon on second, would hit a moonshot two run homerun giving the Mustangs a 3-2 lead. From this homerun, the momentum would shift into DCG’s favor, as they would continue find gaps on offense. Kale Montag would pitch the entire game for the Mustangs, only allowing three runs through six complete innings helping the Mustangs achieve a 11-3 victory over the Eagles.
The Mustangs would defeat Pella Christian in both games, with an 11-0 victory in the first game, and 11-3 victory in the second. Mustang softball returns to action on Friday as they travel to Pella High School for battle against the Dutch. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30pm.
