Adel-DeSoto-Minburn junior Lauren Hagedorn garnered the first home run of the season in an 8-0 shutout victory in six innings over Harlan Community in the opener on Wednesday in Adel.

ADM was supposed to begin the season on Tuesday hosting Ankeny, but the weather dictated the decision to cancel it. However, the Tigers opened the year in Adel on Wednesday to take care of business versus the Cyclones to get the first win of the 2025 season. No scoring occurred in the game until the fourth inning, where ADM got two across the plate to lead 2-0. They followed it up in the fifth exploding for five runs, and another one in the sixth to end the game in six innings 8-0.

The Tigers starting pitcher sophomore Makenna Pitlick picked up the win as she went five innings, striking out seven batters, and walked one. Junior Lauren Hagedorn pitched one inning, acquiring one strikeout, as she blasted a two-run home run in the fifth inning. Freshman Aubrey Noring scored two runs, with senior Aniston Tollari, sophomore Kinzie Maxwell, senior Kennedy Stanford, senior Madi James, and freshman Peyton Herrick all tallied one run a piece.
