With School Board Appreciation Month winding down, one principal of a kindergarten through 12th grade building continues to recognize the work ethic and partnerships of their five member school board.

Annie Smith is the principal with the Paton-Churdan School District and extends her gratitude to everyone who has served on their school boards during her tenure and beyond.

“We have had the most supportive Superintendent and School Board. They are never afraid to think outside the box and they’re never afraid to just make it work. I think that that’s our hidden motto here at Paton-Churdan is that whatever challenges come our way, we’re going to make it work and we’re going to do that to the best of our ability and make it the best for kids.”.

Smith points out this school year’s Board continues to carry on those ideals.

“They, again, are very kid first centered, what’s best for our kids, what’s best for our staff, what’s best for our community? And they’re always asking those questions that that’s what drives the decisions that they make.”

The five members of the P-C School Board include the President, Dave Palmer; Kelly Minnehan as the Vice President, along with board members Mitch Stream, Dennis Tilley and Zach Schweers.
