
PCM (Monroe) broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the top of the seventh and defeated Greene County in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball on Wednesday night, 4-0. The Mustangs improved to 1-2 while the game was the first of the season for the Rams. The contest was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.racoonvalleyradio.com.
Senior Trenner Van Dyke of PCM threw a complete game three-hit shut out with 11 strikeouts. The Rams used four pitchers, all seniors, with Noah Hinote starting and throwing four shut out innings. Gavyn Winters, Isaac Carman, and Camden Jacobs followed on the mound.
The Rams had just three hits, all singles. Jacobs had two hits and Lane Fields one.
After opening at home in Jefferson last night, the Rams play Grand View Christian in Des Moines tonight at the James Cownie Baseball Complex.
