Adel Residents hoping to get into the water will soon be able to do so.
According to Parks and Recreation Supervisor Ramona Dillinger, the Adel Aquatic Center is set to open tomorrow. She says on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer, family swim will take place from noon to 1pm, followed by open swim until 6pm. Dillinger highlights the schedule for Monday through Thursday is 12:30-5pm and then again from 6-8pm, and Friday, the hours are 12:30-5pm.
Dillinger breaks down that a resident family pass of up to six people living in the same household, which is anyone within the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, costs $200, and then a non-resident family pass is $240. As far as single seasonal passes go, Dillinger points out people inside the ADM School District will pay $90, while those outside are $110. She states that daily admission fees for babies up to two years old is $2, ages three through 54 is $7, and ages 55 plus is $6. Dillinger details that a family day pass of up to four members is $25 or a family evening pass after 5pm is $16. She reveals new improvements that were made to the facility over the past year.
“The pool was completely stripped to concrete, so the whole pool basin has been repainted, including the splash pad area and there’s new diving boards. Children 13 (years) and older are welcome to use the boards, anyone under 13 must pass the swim test to use the diving boards.”
Dillinger comments the pool closes for the season on August 10th, with the last event is the Doggy Dip at 6pm that evening.
