The Dallas County Conservation Board is ramping into the summer season with an interactive event on the water happening tomorrow.

The board is inviting everyone out to the Summer Kickoff Paddle at the Snyder Tract, 21468 Minburn Road, in Minburn tomorrow morning from 9-11:30am. Naturalist Mike Havlick explains interested participants must bring their own boats, paddles, and life jackets, but mentions the ride on the Raccoon River is pretty mellow. He notes that people will start on the North Raccoon River Wildlife Area in Minburn and travel down to the Highway 44 Boat Ramp.

Havlick details that guests will be able to see the natural features of the valley and river. He adds that the conservation board is planning on doing more paddle events this summer as long as the river levels allow. The event is free, but registration is required, which the link can be found by clicking here.
