
The fifth-ranked Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team in Class 4A host their second game of the season versus 10th-ranked Johnston out of Class 5A tonight, as Raccoon Valley Radio will have the broadcast.
The Dragons are 1-2 in the early season with a 6-4 victory over Ankeny on Wednesday, and two losses to Ankeny Centennial last night and the Tigers are 1-0 as they blanked Harlan Community 8-0 on Wednesday. In the opening game, Tiger sophomore pitcher Makenna Pitlick threw five innings racking up seven strikeouts, with junior Lauren Hagedorn pitching one inning for one strikeout. Offensively, Hagedorn had three hits, captured four RBIs, and hit her first home run of the year.
For the Dragons first game, senior pitcher Jensyn Tenpas completed four innings with four strikeouts and senior Reese Van Roekel shined against the Hawks with two hits and three RBIs. This will be the fourth game between ADM and Johnston as the Tigers lead the historical series 2-1, taking the last two matchups. First pitch is set for 7pm from the ADM Softball Field in Adel as it’s Teacher Appreciation Night. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, starting around 6:45pm.
