On Thursday the West Central Valley Wildcat boys soccer team played host to the Pella Christian Eagles for the Class 1A region seven championship. This match would go into overtime, as both teams would notch in a goal during regulation. West Central Valley would score in the final 45 seconds of overtime after a corner kick from Alan Diaz to defeat the Eagles 2-1 for the regional championship.

Pella Christian would take the lead first half scoring in the 22nd minute. Aiden Brandon would score the equalizer with 13 minutes left of the second half leading the Wildcats into overtime. Both defenses would shine refusing to quit, but with 45 seconds left, Diaz would send a beautiful corner kick that would end up becoming an own goal, bouncing off an Eagle into the net giving the Wildcats the victory.

The Wildcat boys soccer team win the regional championship and advance to state with a 16-0-1 record.
