The 2025 season for the Adel Aquatic Center begins today.

Adel Parks and Recreation Supervisor Ramona Dillinger tells Raccoon Valley Radio the pool opens today with family swim from noon to 1pm, then open swim from 1-6pm. She details that those hours will be consistent on Saturdays and Sundays, with a slight change to the hours for Monday through Thursday, with the pool available to everyone from 12:30-5pm before re-opening from 6-8pm, and then 12:30-5pm on Fridays.

Dillinger confirms that resident family passes, which are six people living in the same household within the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, costs $200, and a non-resident family pass is $240. She points out that single season passes are $90 for people in the ADM School District and $110 for those outside of it. Dillinger mentions that daily admission fees for babies up to two years old is $2, ages three to 54 are $7, and ages 55 plus are $6.

Dillinger describes that there have been some improvements made to the pool within the last year to get it ready for this season. She mentions some of those projects included stripping the surface down to concrete with the whole basin being repainted, including the splash pad area. She highlights that new this year are the diving boards for people over the age of 13. However, she outlines that kids under 13 years old can use the boards as long as they pass the swimming test. Dillinger concludes that the pool season will end on August 10th.
