
Christina Kanealy earns first varsity win as the Jayettes defeated Saydel 4-3 in Perry Friday night.
It was a night of firsts for Perry softball. Kanealy earned her first win in the circle and head coach Emma Olejniczak collected her first win in the dugout. Kate Schuttler got her first career hit and RBI.
The Perry offense started hot getting two in the first, one in the second and third. The Jayettes Led 4-1 after three. Saydel made things interesting with a two spot in the sixth. Perry would hold on for the 4-3 victory.
Kalley Whelchel, Schuttler , and Kanealy each had two hits and an RBI.
Kanealy pitched the complete game finishing with eight hits, three runs, four walks, and two strikeouts.
Savannah McClay took the loss for Saydel. The freshman went three innings giving up six hits, four runs, two walks, and striking out two.
The Jayettes improve to 1-1.
They return to the field Wednesday hosting Nevada at 7P a game you can hear on KDLS.
