The Greene County Historical Society is hosting its next monthly program this upcoming Friday.
According to the Historical Society, the Pleasant Hill Church near Grand Junction, will be the featured presentation at 12:45pm. The speakers including Beth Rasmussen, Peggy Semke and Leah Thompson will go over the history of the church that was built in 1881, how it was founded and review the active congregations that it had until 1952, when it closed. Organizers say the church is located north of Squirrel Hollow Park and still remains in use today.
The program is free and there will be a lunch served beforehand at noon for $12. To reserve a meal, call 515-386-4408 or a Historical Society member by this Tuesday.
