Greene County scored 12 of its 13 runs in the last three innings to down Nevada on the road Friday night by a 13-1 final. After just four softball victories last season the Rams are now 2-1, all in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, and the win was number 301 for veteran head coach Tom Kennedy.

Sophomore Alaina Heard recorded a career high 13 strikeouts and allowed just one earned run on four hits. She walked only two Cubs en route to her second win this season.

The Rams trailed 1-0 after the first inning, then tied the score with a run in the third before denting the scoreboard with four runs in the fifth, two in the sixth, and six in the seventh. The Rams had 15 hits and no errors while the Cubs were charged with three errors.

Junior Becca Anderson had a career best five runs batted in and she singled twice.  Senior Payton Kokenge singled four times with a double, two singles, and two RBI for sophomore Bellah Johnson. Sophomore Makenna Ebersole had a double, single, and a run batted in, and senior Violet Reedy singled twice. Heard had a base hit and one RBI, with sophomore Sara Morlan collected one single and one run knocked in.

The Rams play Ogden at 9 a.m. today in the Ogden Tournament, followed by a 10:45 a.m. contest vs. Kuemper Catholic.
