The Perry City Council will meet in regular session on Monday.

The council will hold a first, then possible second and third readings for an ordinance to amend subsection to chapter 125 to discharge regulations to fireworks, following the recent law that was signed by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to limit local bans on fireworks.

Next, the council will have public hearings on the amendment to the current budget for fiscal year 2025 and proposed contract documents and estimated costs for repair or improvement on the parallel taxiway reconstruction. Following both public hearings, the council will look to accept those items.

Other items on the agenda seeking approval include a formal submission of an application to the Federal Aviation Administration for eligible funds from the Airport Improvement Program, a resolution for an addendum scope of work for the existing Runway 14/32 reconstruction to partial parallel Taxiway A, and a resolution to provide written consent to permit shooting arrows within the city limits of specific property.

Additional items up for approval feature a resolution for plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of costs for the downtown improvement phase one project, a resolution for a temporary construction easement, a resolution authorizing a fireworks permit for J and M Displays Incorporated, reappointments to the Library Board of Trustees, and a resolution to accept the reduction of recapture funds for a property located along Warford Street.

The meeting is open to the public and is taking place in the Clarion Room of the Security Band Building, 1102 Willis Avenue, in Perry Monday evening at 6pm.
