Saydel brought their hitting shoes to Perry and topped the Bluejays, 12-4 and 13-2, in Friday’s conference double header.
Progressive Field hosted a twin bill Friday as Saydel came to Perry to face the Bluejays. Perry was in control of game one after a Mason Hayes double drove in two Bluejays in the third. Perry brought a three run lead to the sixth that would not hold up. The Eagles preceded to bat around twice and put up a 12 spot as they ultimately won 12-4.
Owen Myers took the loss in relief of Hayes. The Perry senior faced five hitters while giving up four runs off three hits.
Myers did have his best offensive performance to date going 3/4 with a double.
Game two was all Saydel from the word play ball. The Eagles used a three run first and a six run second to pull away in the 13-2 win.
Luke Adair took the loss as Perry managed just one hit from Hayes in the late game.
Perry falls to 0-6 and 0-3 in the Heart of Iowa Conference. They travel to Winterset on Monday night.
