
Greene County softball allowed 32 runs to two opponents at the Ogden Tournament on Saturday, losing 11-2 to Ogden and 21-11 to Kuemper Catholic (Carroll). The Rams are 2-3 overall and host Roland-Story (Story City) Monday night in Jefferson on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
Sophomore Alaina Heard was the losing pitcher for the Rams vs. the Bulldogs, going all five innings and allowing five earned runs. She gave up seven hits, three walks and she hit one batter with a pitch, to go with three strikeouts. Sophomore Makenna Ebersole doubled with singles by senior Chanlyn Cunningham, sophomore Sara Morlan, senior Violet Reedy, and sophomore Bellah Johnson. The Rams were charged with four errors.
Kuemper Catholic scored 12 first inning runs en route to winning by 10 runs vs. the Rams. Sophomore Hannah Fouch started on the pitching rubber and took the loss with relief help by Johnson. The Rams were charged with three errors and they totaled five hits. Freshman Breanna Pope collected her first varsity triple and she drove in two runs. Singles came from Johnson, Morlan, Reedy, and sophomore Kaliyah Minnihan. Sophomore Alivya Smith, senior Payton Kokenge, Johnson, and Ebersole had one RBI apiece.
