On Friday the West Central Valley Wildcat baseball and softball team played host to the Southeast Valley Jaguars. The Wildcat teams would split the decision, as the Wildcat baseball team would pick up a 9-2 victory, while the Wildcat softball team would fall to Southeast Valley 12-9.

In the softball contest, The Wildcats would begin to battle back after giving up eight runs in the second, and two more in the third. The Wildcats would begin to respond on Grace Bleckwehl would take the mound in the third inning, holding the Jaguars to only two runs while helping the Wildcats notch in four runs of their own. In the final inning, the Wildcats would begin to battle back, as Bleckwehl, would drive in a run off a double, and Macy Long would drive in Bleckwehl with a single in the bottom of the seventh. The Wildcats would unfortunately fall to the Jaguars 12-9.

In the baseball contest, Tyson Partlow would start on the mound pitching through five complete innings while Zach Teague would strike out the final batter in the top of the seventh after pitching for two innings. The Wildcats would score six runs in the second to take the lead, and two more in the bottom of the fifth to secure a 9-2 victory.

Both Wildcat teams return to action on Monday as the Wildcats travel to Madrid High School to face off against the Tigers. Both games are set to begin at 7pm.
