The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team lost their first conference double header against Boone at Memorial Park on Monday.

ADM lost game one 18-0 in four innings, while the Tigers responded well, but were defeated 8-7 in the second game. In the first match, Boone captured three runs in the bottom of the first inning, then erupted for eight runs in the second, and seven runs in the third as they would not allow a run to ADM, and won in four innings.

Toreador senior Reid Carr picked up the win pitching four innings, allowing two hits, and walked one. Tiger sophomore Jack Siefken 1.1 innings, allowed six hits, and 11 runs, while sophomore Hudson Lewerke went 1.2 innings, allowed seven hits, and seven runs.

ADM would play much better in game two as the Tigers got on the board first in the top of the first inning with freshman Alex Jensen who scored to lead 1-0, but the Toreadors came back with three runs in the bottom half to take a 3-1 advantage. ADM would slowly chip away at the lead and ended up scoring five consecutive runs from the third through fifth innings to lead 6-3 going into the bottom of the fifth.

Boone would garner three more runs to tie the game at 6-6 a piece. Tiger senior Jaxson Book had an RBI triple to get sophomore Talan Hansen in to recapture the lead at 7-6 going into the bottom of the seventh inning. However, the Toreadors would manage to load the bases and tie the game at 7-7, as senior Tate Carlson was hit by a pitch and it got senior Luke Moore in from third base. After that, senior Cole Bowers hit an RBI walkoff single to bring in junior Noah Davies from third for the 8-7 victory.

Davies would finish 2-3 with two singles and score three times for Boone. ADM’s Jensen went 3-4 from the plate, scoring twice. Pitching wise, Toreador senior Waker Smith got the win going 4.1 innings, allowed seven hits, four runs, walked four batters, and struck out three and junior Landen Youngblood pitched 2.2 innings, allowing one hit, two runs, and had two strikeouts.

Tiger senior Grant Jansen went five complete innings, allowing seven hits, six runs, walked two batters, and struck out three, while sophomore Cole Waddingham finished two innings, allowed two hits, two runs, and captured one strikeout.
