
Bluejays strike early in the top of the first in Winterset, but fall 13-3 to the Huskies on Monday. Perry opens the year 0-7.
Perry baseball began a busy week in Winterset on Monday. Owen Myers got the Bluejays on the board with a first inning ground out. Winterset wasted no time in the bottom of the inning plating four. The rout was on with an additional two runs in the second. The Huskies led 7-3 after the third before coasting to the 13-3 victory.
The Bluejays were out hit 11 to six. Geren Kenney and Luke Adair each had two singles.
Owen Myers made the start for Perry. The senior struggled with his command in his one inning of work walking three. He gave up four hits, five earned runs, and struck out two
Josiah Hornback pitched the complete game victory. The Husky surrendered six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out four and walking one.
The loss drops Perry to 0-7 while Winterset improves to 5-3.
Perry has been postponed tonight against ADM until Thursday. The Bluejays return to action tomorrow hosting Nevada.
