
Coming off its first win of the 2025 season, Greene County hosted Roland-Story (Story City) in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball on Monday night in Jefferson at Allensworth Field. Things didn’t go the Rams was in a six innings 10-0 loss, by the 10-run rule. The Rams fell to 1-3 on the season and 1-2 in the conference while the Norsemen are 7-2 on the season and 3-1 in league play.
Junior Nathan Towers took the loss after going the first four innings. Senior Lane Fields and senior Nick Stream relieved. R-S scored single runs in each of the first five innings, then put five on the board in the sixth. A first inning double by Fields was the lone hit on the night for Greene County. The Rams struck out nine times while the pitching staff walked 11 R-S batters.
Weather permitting, the Rams host Carroll High tonight at 7:30 p.m. on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
