The Perry Public Library is gearing up to host their big summer event tailored towards youth on Saturday.

Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper invites everyone out to KidsFest, which will serve as a free event to launch the Summer Reading Program revolving around the theme of “Level Up.” She expresses that children and teens will be able to engage with the foam blaster, creating bubbles, along with activities with PBS Kids Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) stations, a dunk tank, petting zoo, and more. Pieper reveals a new addition the library will be making for youth.

“As part of our theme for Level Up, we will have a gaming truck filled with a variety of consoles. So our older kids and teens can go inside and play their favorite game. There’s truly something fun for everyone at KidsFest.”

Pieper notes that the Perry Volunteer Fire Department is providing a $1 meal of hotdogs and pork loins to guests. KidsFest will take place on Saturday from 10:30am-1:30pm and Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil’ Big Red Radio will be making an appearance doing live broadcasts for the duration of the event.
