The Guthrie Center Volunteer Fire Department is holding their annual Summer Kick Off Grill Out tonight.

The event is from 5-7pm, with a meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, a cookie and a drink for a free will donation. Those attending the event can eat at the fire hall, or take their meal to go. There will also be a chance for those attending to enter for a chance to win a family pool pass and summer fun package from a drawing. According to the department, proceeds from the meal will be used to update their air pack systems, which are critical to firefighter safety. These systems need to be updated every so often to keep them safe.
