The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Soccer Team is on the quest to capture a state championship, as they face Waverly-Shell Rock in the Class 2A Semifinals this afternoon at the Lied Recreation Field in Ames.

The Tigers are the number five seed, and have a tough matchup with the Go-Hawks, who are 17-0-1 on the season. ADM defeated Independence 2-1 on Tuesday, while Waverly-Shell Rock handled Indianola 5-1. Coming into today’s game, Tiger senior Jada Grove has 34 goals scored and 100 in her high school career, and Go-Hawk junior Anaka Ott has garnered 36 goals. 

Defensively, ADM senior Goalie Alayna Freeman sits at 147 saves, and Waverly-Shell Rock junior Goalie Stella Reicherts is at 43 saves. The Tigers and Go-Hawks have only met once back in 2022, where Waverly-Shell Rock got a 1-0 win. Kick off today is set at 2:30pm from the Lied Recreation Field in Ames, as Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
