A local business owner in Greene County is hosting a grand opening for a new location.

The Era Wedding and Events Center, in which Abby McConnell is the Venue Manager and Wedding Coordinator, has teamed up with the property owner Travis Hardin, and is having the grand opening tomorrow from 5:30-8:30pm. The owner of Legacy Event, McConnell tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she wasn’t actively seeking a wedding area, but she felt like when this opportunity came along to go into business with a childhood friend in Hardin who took over the former John 15 Vineyard, she couldn’t pass it up.

McConnell notes that The Era features restored elements of its unique history, while infusing modern amenities to give anyone looking for a venue to celebrate a wedding or another type of an event. She and Hardin invite everyone out to stop by tomorrow for free hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and live music provided by Des Moines-based musician, Taylor King.
