
The Saydel (Des Moines) Eagles baseball team stayed unbeaten in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play with a six inning victory by a final of 11-0 in Jefferson at Allensworth Field on Wednesday night vs. Greene County. The Rams fell to 1-4 overall and in the league while the Eagles improved to 7-1, 3-0.
Sophomore pitcher Brady Hicks for Saydel threw six shut out innings, allowing three hits, all singles, while fanning the Rams 12 times. Senior Crew Conner singled twice for Greene County and senior Lane Fields singled once. The Rams were charged with four errors. Senior Noah Hinote went all six innings on the mound for the Rams. Saydel’s Kamden Jorgenson hit a sixth inning grand slam.
Greene County plays in State Center vs. West Marshall on Friday night.
