The Perry Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed The Hangout Diner on Friday with a ribbon cutting.

Chamber Member Eileen Splendore expressed her excitement about the restaurant being in Perry, as they had a soft opening in mid-November of 2024. Hangout Diner Owner Christina Silva shared that chefs attempt to make as many homemade dishes as possible.

She says that her employees began at Caboose Park along 1st Street serving snacks, but the popularity of the stand prompted them to move into a bigger space. They now serve burgers, pork sandwiches, and ice cream. Silva adores the youth that stop by the restaurant.

“I have some kids that come and have ice cream or even eat just as a group of teenagers, which is always welcome (and) it’s nice to see them have somewhere to go.”

The hours for The Hangout Diner are Monday, as well as Thursday-Sunday from 7am-2pm and 4-8pm. They are closed on Tuesday.
