The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session Monday night.
The meeting will start with a report from the Adair County Landfill on the recycling bin service, as well as deciding on the City Clean Up Day for 2026, before considering for approval the School Resource Officer program, and discussing city department comparisons and employee retention concerns with Stuart Police Chief Dave Reha. They will also hear an update on the wastewater operator position search, and hold a hearing on a nuisance violation at 104 Northeast 4th Street.
The Council will then consider for approval recommendations from the Hotel/Motel Tax Committee, the sports complex being used by the West Central Valley Soccer Club, and a resolution for cigarette permits for fiscal year 2025-26. The next items on the agenda for consideration are swim passes for volunteer members of the Stuart Fire Department, sidewalk waivers and a partial pay estimate to McAninch Corporation for $117,182.40 for work completed on the Wambold Phase Three Housing project.
The Council will also consider for approval an amendment to an ordinance for a provision in agricultural-commercial zoning districts, the 2025-26 fiscal year city employee wages, a Tax Increment Financing application from Duncan Construction for 100 Northwest 2nd Street and a letter of commitment for the same address regarding a Community Catalyst Remediation Grant; and then hear on All Saints Lot 33 regarding the retention pond and sidewalk installation.
The meeting will begin at 6pm in Council Chambers in Stuart City Hall. For those unable to attend in person, there is a digital option via the city’s YouTube page.
