The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team played a four-hour game on Friday at home against Van Meter, as the Bulldogs tallied a good amount of runs late to beat the Tigers 8-2 in 13 innings.
The Tigers gave the now 10-3 Bulldogs a run with sophomore Jack Siefken getting the start on the mound, as the game remained scoreless for the duration up until the 13th inning. ADM had a chance in the bottom of the 12th inning to win it, as senior Cade Fisher was on third base, but ultimately was stranded.
Van Meter got the offense to cooperate in the top of the 13th, pushing across eight runs to separate themselves. Staring down an 8-0 deficit, the Tigers didn’t quit, as they managed to get two runs across with senior Grant Jansen and sophomore Talan Hansen to make the score 8-2, which would become the final.
Van Meter scored the eight runs on five hits and two errors, while ADM captured the two runs on three hits and five errors. The Tigers now drop to 3-8 on the season and will be back in Adel tomorrow for a conference double header against Bondurant-Farrar.
