The AC/GC Chargers softball team was in action yesterday, falling to West Central Valley 8-0 and Ankeny Christian 11-2, finishing 4th in the tournament hosted by West Central Valley.

Head Coach Tyler Merical says that in their first game of the day, against the WCV Wildcats, Jayla Hoover pitched four innings while only giving up two runs on four hits. She also went 2-3 from the plate during the game. Merical mentions that in game two against the Ankeny Christian Eagles, Belle Fagan had a hit and walk while batting. Looking at the scorebox for game two, the Chargers secured a run in the first, while the Eagles recorded two. The Chargers were held scoreless for the next three innings, while the Eagles put up three runs in the second, and one in the fourth. AC/GC tallied another run in the fifth inning, while Ankeny Christian put up five, and the game ended with the 11-2 score.
