On Saturday, the Panorama Panthers softball team would defeat both the #4 Ankeny Christian Eagles and the West Central Valley Wildcats to come out on top at the West Central Valley Classic.

Panorama would face off against the Eagles first and would defeat the #4 Eagles 6-5. Lexi Galvan would pitch the entire game, allowing five hits, four runs, and nine strike outs. Galvan would also homer, as Elah Molly and Arilyan Steenblock would also bring Panthers in to score in the 6-5 victory over Ankeny Christian.

To win the WCV Classic, Andrea Knode and Galvan would come in to pitch in the 8-3 victory over the Wildcats. Bridgete White would hit a home run, and would end the night with three RBIs and two hits.

Coach Galvan expressed pride in his Panther girls and their performance against both teams,

It was great to go into the championship game of the WCV classic after a big win vs a ranked opponent. The girls were able to reset and face off against WCV and they did a great job getting a fast start putting up 5 runs in the first two innings. Proud of the girls for the fight they showed today and coming out tourney champs and it’s great to see them coming together as a team and playing for each other.”

Panther softball returns to action on Monday to face off against the Wildcats again at West Central Valley High School. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
