Stuart’s big town celebration is this weekend.

The Good Egg Days festivities begin Friday, with the celebration moved to the business district instead of taking place at Lawbaugh Park. Good Egg Days Committee Chair Kari Tisl says that several businesses wanted to take part in the festivities, so this was a way to help get them involved as well. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why she and the committee work with several businesses around town to help to keep Good Egg Days a fun event for all.

“I just want everybody to come and have a good time. If I see smiles on your faces, I’m good. I hope you come and have a good time. Enjoy everything. It’s a once a year thing that we do. It’s a tradition that we want to keep going. And we’re hoping to keep it free for as long as we can, the majority of it free. So we want kids to have this one time a year to have a blast in the summertime.”

Tisl mentions that the events festivities will be back at Lawbaugh Park on Saturday, with favorites like the GED 5k, the parade, food trucks and craft vendors. She adds that there are also going to be fun activities for children throughout the day as well.
