Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Summer Assistant Tucker Carroll
Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach are ready to hold all their fun summer events, and have some new faces to help them out.
Summer Assistants Carley Fagan and Tucker Carroll say they will be helping with the Extension’s library programs throughout June and July, as well as help teach 4-H’ers during the many workshops to prepare them for various fair exhibits. Fagan tells Raccoon Valley Radio why she wanted to join the Extension as a summer assistant.

“Since I’ve been in 4-H for as long as I could (remember), I just knew I wanted to get back to the Guthrie County Extension Office and be able to help the 4-H’ers grow into what they want to do with their life.”
Many may remember Carroll as a summer assistant from 2024, and he shares why he wanted to take part once again.
“What made me decide to come back was just the atmosphere that everybody brought to the job. Not only was it in the office, but it was the kids in the county that made everything always fun and adventurous to do with them and always learn something new about them or something new about the workshops in general.”
Both Carroll and Fagan are Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center High School graduates, and participated in the school’s FFA program. The two can be seen at the Extension Office in Guthrie Center most weekdays, unless they happen to be out helping with workshops or with library programs.
