
Bluejays can’t hang with host Prairie City-Monroe, 13-3, Tuesday night in Heart of Iowa action.
The Mustangs took an early 1-0 lead in the first. Perry has given up a first inning run in ten of 12 games. A two run fourth gave the Bluejays a lead until the Mustangs stole it back with two in the bottom part of the frame, 4-3. The Bluejays trailed 6-3 in the sixth before PCM walked it off for the ten run mercy rule win.
Perry manged just four hits. Owen Myers had a single and two stolen bases. Reid Iben added a single and the lone RBI.
Mason Hayes suffered the loss. The lefty went four and 2/3 innings while striking out five. He surrendered six hits and runs (three earned). The freshman was wild with three hit by pitches and two walks.
Carson Hanson was the winning pitcher after three and 2/3 innings of two hit ball.
The Bluejays drop to 1-11 (1-6).
