The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
Under the consent items, the Board separated the compensation time pay out notice for Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Todd Thorn for discussion before approving the matter four to one. They then approved dedicating the Guthrie County Health Services Building as the Dr. Stephen Bascom Health Center after hearing a department update from Guthrie County Health Services Director Jotham Arber.
Arber shared that the Public Health Department was setting up health fairs with the school districts in Guthrie County for either right before or just after the new school year starts to perform health checkups for the students. He also discussed possibly having staff work at the Guthrie County Fair and performing blood pressure checks, something they have done in the past and had great success with.
The Board then held a strategy and planning meeting, discussing the new agenda request form, and how people would be able to submit them online, in person, or by mail to the Auditor’s Office, or by coming in and filling one out in person. They also discussed the winter weather policy, and about possibly changing it to be a severe weather policy instead of focusing on just winter weather, with no action taken.
