Prairie City-Monroe extended their first place lead in the Heart of Iowa Conference after defeating Perry 11-1 in softball on Tuesday in Monroe.

The Jayettes got on the board in the first after Cate Erickson hit a leadoff double and Kate Schuttler drove her in with a single.  That would be the lone Perry run as PCM scored 11 unanswered runs.  The Mustangs took the lead with a two run bottom of the first.  They would extend their lead each inning before winning by the mercy rule in four innings.

Cate and Ayden Erickson each had a double.

Tina Kanealy suffered the loss.  The right hander got chased after two and 2/3 innings.

Rylee Parsons earned the complete game victory.

Perry falls below .500 to 3-4-1 (3-4).  The Jayettes travel to Jefferson tonight looking to avenge an earlier season loss.  First pitch has been moved up to 5:30P and will air on KG98.9.
