
It’s round two of Perry and Greene County in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference softball at 5:30 p.m. It’s one game only of varsity softball and the starting time has been moved up to 5:30 p.m. due to weather concerns.
The Rams and Jayettes opened the 2025 season against one another on May 27 with the Rams winning on the road by a 3-1 final. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams are 5-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play while the Jayettes are 3-4 overall and in the conference.
Greene County has already exceeded its season and HOIAC win totals from 2024 when they were 4-20 overall and 3-13 in Heart of Iowa Conference games. The pitching, hitting, and defensive numbers are all better through 10 games in 2025 compared to 2024.
Tonight’s game at the City Diamond on East Lincolnway in Jefferson can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with first pitch set for 5:3o p.m. Perry and Greene County baseball at Allensworth Field will also start at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity game first. If weather allows, baseball will play JV after the conclusion of the varsity game.
