It is an exciting season for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs baseball team as senior utility player Taitn Gray was named the 2025 Iowa Gatorade Player of the year. Gray, also named the 2025 MaxPreps Preseason Iowa Player of the Year, is ranked as the number 92 overall prospect in the upcoming MLB Draft by MLB.com

Gray looks to return to last years glory as he helped lead the Mustangs to the Class 4A state tournament last year with a 35-4 record last season. So far this season in 11 games played, Gray has notched in 13 hits, six homeruns, 18 RBIs and has only struck out twice.

The Mustangs currently lead the Little Hawkeye Conference with a conference record of 6-1 and overall record of 8-4. Gray and the Mustangs prepare for double header action today as Dallas Center-Grimes travels to Norwalk. First pitch is scheduled for 5pm, with the second game to follow at 7.
