
On Tuesday the West Central Valley Wildcats traveled to Woodward and Granger to face off against the Hawks. Both Wildcat teams would come up short, as the Wildcat baseball team would fall 10-0 while the Wildcat softball team would begin to battle back in the top of the seventh but fall 5-1.
In the softball contest, Meleah Speichinger would get the starting nod for West Central Valley and would pitch through four innings allowing five runs with six hits, while achieving five strike outs. Grace Bleckwehl would relieve Speichinger in the fifth pitching through two innings. Lily Clausen, Lily Gilbert and Speichinger would have hits for West Central Valley, with Speichinger coming into score in the seventh to avoid the shut out. West Central Valley fell to Woodward-Granger 5-1.
In the baseball contest the Hawks would jump all over Wildcat pitcher Colton Lindsay in the first putting up four runs across the scoreboard. Lindsay would be replaced by Tryce Dlouhy in the bottom of the fourth, but the Hawks would get the bats roaring again and would score five more runs against Dlouhy to defeat West Central Valley 10-0.
The Wildcat baseball team falls to 3-6 while the Wildcat softball team falls to 4-5. Wildcat baseball returns to action today at Audubon to face off against the Wheelers. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
