
The AC/GC Chargers baseball team picked up their second win of the week last night, taking down the Glidden-Ralston Wildcats 8-3.
Head Coach Nick McCool says that senior Ben Franzeen manned the mound for the entirety of the game, securing eight strikeouts in the game. The Chargers kept the Wildcats scoreless until the sixth inning, while putting up one run in the first, two runs in the second and one more run before the sixth. AC/GC allowed two runs in the sixth, while securing four of their own. The Wildcats picked up their third run in the seventh.
Both the Chargers baseball and softball teams will be heading to Truro tonight, as they take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners in varsity doubleheader action. The 5-4-1 Chargers baseball team will face off against the 11-3 Roadrunners, while the 1-8 Chargers softball team will take on the 6-6 Roadrunners team. With the night being a varsity doubleheader, both teams will face off starting at 5pm for the first game, with the second game to follow at 7pm. The Raccoon Valley Radio sports network will broadcast the second baseball game on 107.9FM and the KKRF online live stream.
