Perry softball will host West Marshall in Heart of Iowa action tonight at 7P on KDLS.
The Jayettes will be celebrating their past with Alumni Night going on. First year coach, Emma Olejniczak, is hopeful to see a wide range of former Perry athletes in attendance.
“We have over 71 alumni you know signed up and now within our program and so we’re just really excited. We’ll have the 1969 team throw out some ceremonial first pitches. We’ll celebrate a lot of good historic Jayette softball.”
The Jayettes dropped the first match up 10-0 to the Trojans. West Marshall has topped Perry in the last four games. The Jayettes are looking for their first win of the week after dropping the first three Heart of Iowa games this week. Perry enters sixth in the conference at 3-5 while WM is tied for third at 6-3.
Karagyn Whelchel leads the Perry offense with a .368 average. Sophomores, Cate Erickson and Kalley Whelchel are each hitting .316.
