
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team was unable to tally a single run on Thursday, as they fell 7-0 against Raccoon River Conference opponent North Polk.
In the 20 at-bats for the Tigers, they only generated one hit from senior Cade Fisher, while the Comets managed to score seven runs on five hits. North Polk captured all their runs in the fourth inning, as senior Drew Owen had three RBIs and scored one run. The other Comets that accumulated runs were junior Jack Spieker, junior Benjamin Glasgow, senior Brady Scholten, senior Brady Reinhart, senior Caiden Gass, and sophomore Ty Lamfers.
Winning pitcher was North Polk’s Owen, who went six innings, allowed one hit, walked four batters, and struck out four. On the losing end was ADM sophomore Jack Siefken, who completed five innings, allowed five hits, seven runs, walked three batters, and captured seven strikeouts, while four errors occurred for the Tigers.
North Polk improves to 7-6 (4-2 RRC), while ADM drops to 5-11 overall (1-6 RRC). The Comets will host a double header tonight versus Waverly-Shell Rock, and the Tigers will travel to Glenwood tomorrow to play two games, starting at 9am.
