The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board met in regular session on Monday.

According to Secretary Josh Jacobs, the board reviewed three service agreements with Heartland Area Education Agency for consultant services, math consultant services, and leadership and infrastructure services for a total amount of $108,609. Jacobs says the board was fine with the agreements, and proceeded to take action to approve them.

Jacobs tells Raccoon Valley Radio that other items on the agenda that were approved included Heartland AEA Special Education Funds to transfer 90 percent of the state funds allocated to the school district, accepting Doug Lemov to be the keynote speaker at the 2026 Experiencing Success Today Conference, a bond counsel and disclosure counsel engagement agreement with Ahlers and Cooney for $8,500,000 in General Obligation School Refunding Bonds, a resolution to direct the advertisement for sale, electronic bidding procedures and official statement for $30 million towards the new high school building in Adel, and a resolution to have Plug and Play provide teacher training sessions on Teach Like A Champion for $8,100.

Jacobs describes that more approved items on the agenda featured a device management software renewal agreement from JAMF Software for $12,650, a licensing agreement with Brisk for $7,000, two dynamic signs for the new high school along Highway 169 in the amount of $12,500, a resolution for a storm protection fund plus a 28E Intergovernmental Cooperate Agreement, a district insurance worker’s compensation renewal to three providers for a total of $836,423.14, an American Institute of Architects Amendment with FRK Architects and Engineers for furniture inventory and procurement, a change order of $20,000 for the high school project, another change order pertaining to the high school construction project from FRK and Stahl Construction, and an Innovation Behavioral Therapy Extended School Year Contract as presented.
