Midwest Partnership held an event at the beginning of the month aimed at helping employers and business owners.
Executive Director Brenda Dudley says that the Business Owner Summer Summit (BOSS) went extremely well, taking place June 5th and 6th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that after a welcome from Panora native and House Representative for District 47 Carter Nordman, they had Blue Compass owner Drew Harden present first.
“He just gave an excellent speech. He talked about how it’s important to support your employees and make them feel good and do good things for them so that they enjoy coming to work. So he gave a lot of ideas and that was a very good speech.”
Dudley mentions that they also had presentations from Iowa State University Athletic Director Jamie Pollard, Your Clear Next Step founder Sinikka Waugh and Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping founder Lance Farrell, who all also gave great speeches. She adds that there were also sessions on employee stock ownership plans and a panel from Iowa business owners, then on Friday to finish everything off and relax there was yoga, lake tours, golf and shopping in Panora.
