The Panorama School Board met in regular session Monday night.

Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that the Board first discussed a 28E agreement for a group storm insurance plan, and then approved signing the agreement through a resolution. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they did so.

“But what it does is allows us to be in this co-op and decreases our deductible to about $10,000 per event. And it covers that one percent deductible for us. So we save about $30,000 a year in our management fund by going to this 28E agreement. So it’s kind of a no-brainer for us from a financial standpoint. And honestly, it goes to show you that it’s sometimes better just to have a co-op.”

Huebner mentions that the Board also approved their partnership with Life Connections, a transfer of state money for Area Education Agency special education services, and the first reading of board policies 503.10 and 503.10r regarding student use of personal electronic devices.
