The third Farmer’s Market is coming up for the Perry Chamber of Commerce, with the first special theme of the season taking place this Thursday.
The chamber will be inviting out law enforcement to the farmer’s market for Public Safety Night. Director Lynsi Pasutti explains that local entities including the Perry Police Department, the fire department, and the Dallas County Emergency Medical Services Department will be bringing out their different vehicles. She always enjoys the special theme nights, but this one is a favorite for the youth.
“There’s at least one or two or three different vehicles that have lights and buttons and all these things, so it’s just fun to kind of get to know people and ask questions. I think it’s a great opportunity for kids to feel more comfortable when they meet someone in uniform or they can see the vehicle up close, and maybe it’s a little less scary if they ever have to interact with that in the future.”
Pasutti shares that the fire department will be grilling food for guests to eat that night, and that youth will be able to climb into the vehicles to see how things operate. Perry’s Farmer’s Market Public Safety Night is happening this coming Thursday from 4-7pm downtown along 2nd Street.
