Drought conditions across the state of Iowa have worsened, including portions of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

The U.S. Drought Monitor shows the western part of Guthrie County and the eastern side of Dallas County are abnormally dry, while Greene County is not in a drought. According to the National Weather Service, as of June 13th, Guthrie Center is sitting at 1.02 inches of rain behind the normal monthly rate of 1.61 inches, Perry has accumulated 2.42 inches of rain ahead of its average of 1.99 inches, and Jefferson has received 2.97 inches of rain, which is in front of the June average of 2.25 inches.
