The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team won four games over the course of two days in the DJ Classic tournament in North Scott on Friday and Saturday.

ADM picked up two victories on Friday, as they beat Pleasant Valley 4-3 and North Scott 5-2. On Saturday, the Tigers garnered two more wins over Dubuque Senior 7-3 and Bettendorf 4-3. In the first game against Dubuque Senior, ADM tallied five runs across in the bottom of the first to take a 5-0 advantage. The Rams responded in the top of third inning, getting three runs to make it 5-3, but the Tigers tacked on two more in the bottom of the fourth to carry them to a 7-3 victory.

Scoring runs for ADM included Elliotte Von Roden, Lauren Hagedorn, Madi James, Peyton Herrick, Kennedy Stanford, Ellis Smith, and Aniston Tollari. Pitching for the Tigers was Makenna Pitlick who went one inning, then Chloe Olthoff pitched two innings, allowed five hits, three runs, and walked one batter, and Hagedorn went two innings and recorded five strikeouts.

In ADM’s second game versus Bettendorf, both teams captured two runs in the first inning as the game was tied at 2-2, before the Tigers added a third run in the bottom of the second inning to lead 3-2. The Bulldogs once got the tying run in the top of the sixth, then Tollari singled and an error on Bettendorf was able to get in freshman Addison Siedelman for the go-ahead 4-3 lead, that would ultimately carry ADM to the win.

Besides Siedelman, other Tigers that scored included Von Roden, Herrick, and Smith. Olthoff pitched two innings, allowed three hits, two runs, and had two strikeouts. Hagedorn followed by going five innings, allowed two hits, one run, walked one batter and struck out eight.

ADM is now 12-5 overall and have won their last six games. The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow in Huxley, as they have a conference double header against the Bombers at Ballard Middle School, starting at 5pm.
